ಯಾವುದೇ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕೂ ನಾವು ಮೊದಲು ಈ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಗಳನ್ನುಂಟು ಮಾಡುವ ಭೂವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಕತೃಗಳ ಉತ್ಪತ್ತಿ, ಸ್ವಭಾವ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಮಾಣಗಳ ಕೆಲವು ವಿಚಾರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಕತೃಗಳು ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯಗತಿಯ ಕಾಲಾವಧಿಯ ನಿರ್ಧಿಷ್ಟ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿದಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. -
ಜಗತ್ತಿನ ವೈವಿಧ್ಯಮಯ ಧರ್ಮ,ಮತಗಳು -
ಗಾಂಧೀಜೀ ಎಂದರೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ಒಂದು ಪಂಥ. ಶಿಲ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಜಕಣಾಚಾರಿ ಇದ್ದ ಹಾಗೆ. -
ಯುಗಾವತಾರನೊಬ್ಬನು ಬರುವಾಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ತನ್ನ ಪರಿವಾರವನ್ನೂ ಕರೆತಂದು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮ ಆಗಮನದ ಇದ್ದೇಶ, ತನ್ನ ಸಾಧನೆ-ತಪಶ್ಚರ್ಯೆಗಳ ಅರ್ಥವನ್ನು ಮನಗಾಣಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಶ್ರೀ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣರು ತಮ್ಮ ಲೀಲಾನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಹಕರಿಸಲು ಕೆಲವು ಸಮೀಪವರ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದರೆಂಬುದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ. -
ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೇ, ಕನಕದಾಸ ಅವರ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭ ಮಾಡಿರ‍್ತಕ್ಕಂಥ ಈ ಅಧ್ಯಯನ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಶೋಧನಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರದ ಮೊದಲ ಸಮಾರಂಭದಲ್ಲಿ ಉದ್ಘಾಟಕನಾಗಿ ಭಾಷಣ ಮಾಡ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. -
ಕನ್ನಡ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಗೆ ನಾನು ಪದಾರ್ಪಣ ಮಾಡಿ ಆರು ದಶಕಗಳು ಜಾರಿ ಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಈ ಆರು ದಶಕಗಳ ಬಣ್ಣದ ಬದುಕಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಕಷ್ಟಕೋಟಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯ ಏಳುಬೀಳುಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಅನೇಕ ಪ್ರತಿಭಾನ್ವಿತ ಅಭಿನೇತ್ರಿಯರೂ, ಕಲಾತಪಸ್ವಿಗಳೂ ಕನ್ನಡ ರಂಗಕಲೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಜ್ವಲಗೊಳಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. -
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾಟಕ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ ಆಕಾರ ಬಂದದ್ದು 1880ರ ಆಚೆ-ಈಚೆ. ಸಂಗೀತನಾಟಕವೆಂದೇ ಹೆಸರಾದ ಆ ಕಾಲದ ನಾಟಕಗಳು ಯಕ್ಷಗಾನ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯಿಂದ ಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆದವು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರತೀತಿ. ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತ ನಾಟಕಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ಇಂಗ್ಲೀಷ್‌ನ 'ಅಪೇರಾ'ಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು ನಿಜ. ಮೊದಲ ದಿನಗಳ ಅನುಕರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಾಟಕ ರಂಗಭೂಮಿಯು ಒಂದು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರೂಪ ತಾಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದದ್ದು ಆ ಕಾಲದ ಸುಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧ ನಟರಾದ ವರದಾಚಾರ್ಯರಿಂದ. -
ಸುಯೋಧನಾ.. ಏಳು, ಕುರುವಂಶದ ರಾಜನಾಗಿ, ಕರ್ಣನಂಥವನ ಸ್ನೇಹಕ್ಕಾಗಿ, ರಣರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ವೀರ ಮರಣವನ್ನಪ್ಪಿದ ನಿನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಸಗ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಖ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನ್ನವರಲ್ಲೊಬ್ಬರನ್ನು ಆರಸಿಕೋ. ಕುರುಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಧರ್ಮ ಯುದ್ಧದಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾಗಿಯಾದ ಯಾರಾದರೂ ಸರಿ; ನಿನ್ನಿಚ್ಛೆಯಂತೆ ನಿನ್ನೊಡನೆ ಕರೆದುಕೋ. -
ನೋಡು ಭಗವಂತ, ನಿನ್ನ ಈ ಜಗದ ಸ್ಥಿತಿ ಏನಾಗಿದೆಯೆಂದು ಎಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಮಾನವ, ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಾನವ ಸೂರ್ಯ ಬದಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಚಂದ್ರ ಬದಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಆಕಾಶ ಬದಲಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಮಾನವ, ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಬದಲಾಗಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಮಾನವ -
ದಿನವೂ ಉದಯೋನ್ಮುಖ ಕವಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಮರ್ಶಕರು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ತಾವೇ ಎಲಿಯೆಟ್‌ಗಳು ಅನ್ನೋ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾತಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ನಂಗೆ ಬೌದ್ಧಿಕತೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಜ್ಞಾನದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮೋಹವಿತ್ತು. -
'ನಾನು ತಮಿಳು ಕನ್ನಡಿಗ, ಮಿರ್ಜಾ ಇಸ್ಮಾಯಿಲರು ಮುಸ್ಲಿಂ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು, ಆದರೆ ಅ.ನ.ಕೃಷ್ಣರಾಯರು ಅಚ್ಚ ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರು. -
ವಯಸ್ಸಾದಂತೆ ಕೀಲುಗಳಿಗೆ 'ಆಸ್ಟಿಯೋ ಆರ್ಥ್ರೈಟಿಸ್‌' ಉಂಟಾಗಿ ಬಹುಪಾಲು ಜನರಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಇದರಿಂದ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ನರಳುತ್ತಾರೆಂದಲ್ಲ. ಮಾಂಸಖಂಡ ಬಿಗಿಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆಂದೂ ಅಲ್ಲ. ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಅಲ್ಪಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಅನಾನುಕೂಲವಾಗಬಹುದು ಅಥವಾ ಯಾವುದೂ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆಯೂ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಇಂತಹ 'ಆಸ್ಟಿಯೋ ಆರ್ಥ್ರೈಟಿಸ್‌' ಅನ್ನು 'ಸೈಲೆಂಟ್‌' ಮಾದರಿಯ ಕಾಯಿಲೆಯೆನ್ನಬಹುದು. -

The Winter's Tale is a play by William Shakespeare originally published in the First Folio of 1623. Tom Sawyer lived with his Aunt Polly and his half-brother, Sid. Tom dirties his clothes in a fight and is made to whitewash the fence the next day, as a punishment. He trades the treasures for Sunday School tickets which one normally receives for memorizing scriptures, redeeming them for a bible, much to the surprise and bewilderment of the superintendent who thought "it was simply preposterous that this boy had warehoused two thousand sheaves of Scriptural wisdom on his premises—a dozen would strain his capacity, without a doubt." Tom falls in love with Becky Thatcher, a new girl in town, and persuades her to get "engaged" by kissing him. But their romance collapses when she learns Tom has been "engaged" previously, to a girl named Amy Lawrence. Shortly after being shunned by Becky, Tom accompanies Huckleberry Finn to the graveyard at night, where they witness the murder of Dr. Robinson. -

Proteus’s desire for Sylvia wipes out his former love, leading him into despicable acts that win scorn from Sylvia and wound Julia, who has pursued him disguised as a boy. When Sylvia follows Valentine into banishment, Proteus follows Sylvia, and Julia follows Proteus, the stage is set for a disturbing ending. But the stage is also set for the “gentlemen” to take small steps toward maturity.
